  1. Absolutely beautiful rig - reference quality tone no doubt. I have the Amp One - a little brother by comparison but still an outstanding bass amp. Clearly it takes a lot to justify such a price tag for most players, however, where no compromises are possible, this could be the ultimate medium-sized rig. I'd genuinely take this over Meyer

If you're up for a headless bass, Status will make you one with the "Bendwell"- a little depression between the zero fret and the string anchor which reduces their 34" scale down to about 32" and allows you to bend open strings/ harmonics as if behind the nut.

    Cheers

Without shamelessly wanting to promote a sale, if you wish to view a 32" Status Streamline (with Bendwell) mine's for sale in the Basschat ads.

  3. Following 15 years of constant gigging, rehearsing, recording, I gave up all live work a little over 20 years ago (one mate's wedding apart) and haven't missed it at all. Jerks in boozers, difficult stage managers, boring long journeys, prima donna and drug addled band mates, poor money, ddwindling crowds, shark promoters...

Don't get me wrong, there were some ecstatic high points but the disenchantment accelerated rapidly and I found more fulfilling things to do. I enjoy playing bass (and messing around with basses) more than ever but I don't feel any need to return to playing live or playing with other people

Wow you don't see many Millennia TD-1's in someone's bass rig. When I was in the states a couple of years back I spoke to a pro bass player who spoke very highly of them.
How do you feel about it?

    Hi Jazzyvee,

thanks - I've been through a lot of pres in the past few years (Agi db680, Epifani Quest, Avalon U5, Matamp, TE etc.) and the only two that remain are the TD-1 and SF2 - 'kind of tells its own story. The TD-1 is in a league of its own (IME) in terms of control, air, headroom, forensics and openness. It's extremely versatile but I tend to ignore the tube side for bass and use the SS for its crispness and immediacy. Alembics really don't need opening-up as you know, however the TD-1 only adds to the complexity, weight and dynamics. A truly world-class pre and I think it looks good too. However, if you're looking for plug and play simplicity, this is maybe the wrong choice. As a bonus, Millennia couldn't be better in terms of support - the company stands behind its products completely

  5. SOLD

A fully loaded Status Streamline 4 in fantastic condition - 'could probably pass for new. The bass was built with pretty-much all of the available custom options as set-out below (it's the classic black weave graphite high-gloss finish). Comes with the original Madarozzo gig bag in very good condition and all tools etc. The bass is from July 2010 I think. I purchased it on Basschat around two years ago and it's been played very little (it's a 32" scale but I play short, i.e., around 30-30.75, almost all the time). The bass has the bendwell and 16.5mm spacing options. The full spec (with current cost) is set out below. The price for this bass today would be £2606. I'm looking to recover a decent part of my original outlay with a price of £1350 (I realise that I'll have to take a hit).

    Full spec:
    Streamline 4 £1595
    16.5mm String Spacing £195
    32" scale with bendwell £140
    Wrap-around LEDs (blue) £575
    Satin lacquer on neck £75
    Straplocks £26
    Total: £2606

Collection in Central Birmingham is preferable but I can ship if necessary at buyer's cost and risk (though I'll have to source a suitable carton). I'll be in Manchester too for a couple of days this week. No trades or offers thanks (there's no rush to sell and given the spec, I think the price is reasonable)

A very reluctant sale - these basses are incredibly light and ridiculously easy to play - if it wasn't for the medium scale, there's no way that I'd sell

A recently purchased (on here) Epi EB0 in very good condition (just a few minor marks on the body). Upgraded with a DiMarzio Model One pickup (around £65) and Kiogon loom (around £25 I think). D'Addario heavy nickel rounds - almost new. A great player with a lovely big round tone and excellent note definition and bloom (forget the mudbucker though the original is included). The pickguard is included but doesn't fit with the DiMarzio in position. Collection from central Birmingham preferred - I don't have a bag or case. Shipping possible but I'd need to source a box. £95 - no offers or trades thanks.

  7. Withdraw with apologies - no time to ship.

An absolutely lovely JV Squier P from August '83 - fantastic condition (almost unmarked) with classic P tone and a fabulous player. Genuinely the best P neck I've played (B width). Comes with generic hard case in very good condition.

I bought this from Tedmanzie just two weeks ago to confirm to myself that I can no longer cope with longscale. This is painful - a fantastic bass that I'd love to hold on to. It really is a brilliant player and a classic bass in phenomenal condition.

I hope Ted wont mind me pointing to his original thread - the images are gone and the bass is in my office so I can't post more until Monday.

I paid £605 including shipping so I'm selling cheaply at £550 (very cheaply for one of these). Collection in central Birmingham preferred but I can ship at buyer's expense (though given commitments, it would almost certainly be after Easter). I'm selling a lot of gear in the next few days, some cheap and some high-end - please take a look.

Images very generously provided by Tedmanzie!
