1.
Up for sale is my ABM EVO II 500. Its the chrome face version and comes rack mounted in a 4u flight case which has wheels and a pulling handle if you so wish to use it that way. I've also included a cool blue neon light which sits above the amp itself. The amp has only seen light use taken out to a maximum of 10 gigs. The case has some battle scars but more scuffs that any damage as such I would prefer local pick up but I will check out p&p if required, I just worry about sending amps out through our postal service. For technical info I've included the link below http://www.ashdownmusic.com/tech/manuals/ABMEVOIIManual.pdf I live in Tonbridge, Kent and anybody who want to come and have a look feel free, likewise any questions please ask. I'm looking for £350 but am open to offers, although I need cash as I've got to fund the replacement. If anyones wondering why I'm selling its purely because I need to go lighter, that's the trouble with age and a bad back lol. 5.
I've been trying to listen out for good bass sounds I can use as an example, but of course each time I hear one I like, I'm driving or otherwise occupied and soon forget. I really like the bass tone used in Jamiroquai stuff, but I play rock, so unsure how it'd sound in context. I wouldn't mind something a bit growlier though. I don't use any FX so sometimes with certain EQs I've found myself sounding too clean when our guitarist's Mesa starts making a fuss. I do want it to stand out from the guitarist's tone though, I don't want something that'll just blend in and fatten out the sound, I want to hold my own space since I do often carry melodies. It's incredibly hard to describe what I'm looking for tone-wise. I'm actually pretty flexible which isn't helping. Beefy and defined are my main two and in the price range I'm looking at, I don't think there'll be too many basses that sound week and muddy (at least I hope not). I do like the sound of a neck J but also like some added growl of a bridge J (My Ibanez is usually about 65/35 neck/bridge). Not so keen on buckers, but can't you coil tap $$s? I like the feel and sound of a Jazz bass (tried a MIM), but I don't really find them that inspiring which is why I've been eyeing up Warwicks (J/J pups and look interesting to me), that's not to say I've ruled out Fender/clones but since I'm having trouble finding any to try, I don't want to buy a bass I find uninspiring to look at just on the chance that I'll find it inspiring to play. I've only played the Thumb sat down and it's been a long time since I've had a go on a Corvette (std, not $$) so can't really remember that. The Thumb's scale didn't feel too bad, but I'm used to my 35" BTB scale, so that probably helped. How's their positioning on a strap? Do they sit in a similar position to most basses or do they feel like they're a little bit towards the fretting hand? There's something about the size of the body that makes it look like it'd be a bit differently positioned to most basses. I didn't get a chance to try out the Thumb plugged in, but from what I've heard online they do sound like the blend of pickups I like (as above, 65/35) as well as very unique, which I like. theFALLEN, thanks for the offer but I've played a BTB406QM for the last 9 years and fancy something new as well as moving to a 5 string. If I just wanted to move to 5 strings, I'd definitely look into picking yours up, I still LOVE my BTB, one of the best basses I've ever played.
No worries dude, good luck in finding what you want. keep me in mind if you change your mind!
 6. Hey dude, I have an Ibanez BTB 5 string for sale if you'd be interested at all. Take a look here if you fancy: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=84160 Thanks guys!
 7. So apart from knowing that someone runs twice the cabs with twice the power, does anyone have any actual genuine advice to offer me please? Thanks guys.
 8. Hey dudes, I have an Ibanez BTB five string for[s][/s] sale. It is in pristine condition, only been used for studio recording by an experienced bass player. It is about three years old now but could pass for being new. I believe that Ibanez no longer make this type of BTB as as well as the standard on board controls, it also has the adjustable variable mid sweep control. The guitar has an orange stain finish, rosewood neck and matching orange stain headstock. I would consider letting the guitar go for [s]£320 [/s] [s]£260 £240[/s] [s]£200[/s] £175 (FINAL PRICE DROP BEFORE BEING WITHDRAWN) which is a bargain considering what you are getting with the guitar. Please see specification and original price listing here: http://www.gak.co.uk/en/ibanez-btb675/18581 FAQ: Why am I selling? I no longer use or need this guitar and as such am selling it to fund other projects Where am I? York, Uk Will I post the guitar? Yes, I would consider sending it via delivery, buyer would accept all responsibility for organization/payment of delivery but it is possible. Local pickups/tryouts are also welcomed How best to contact me? Either PM me here or drop me an email at [email protected] Thanks for your time guys, look forward to hearing from you all! theFALLEN
 9.
I've used an Ashdown ABM900 head (575+575 watts) with an Ampeg 8x10 and an Ampeg 6x10. It was absolutely fine.
...But that was twice the size of the head I have?
 10. Hey dude, am interested. Would want to see some pictures if possible? Thanks.
 11.
What 8x10 is it? They don't tend to go very low, ported one might be better. Should be plenty of power if you are after an 8x10 sound. If you have the right sound now, go for more of the same. What are you currently running?
I am currently running the Ashdown 575 watt head with a 210 cab. I havn't really tried many 810 cabs yet but will probably want to look at either an Ashdown ABM or perhaps the new Hartke Hydrive?... Also, what does ported mean?...
 12. Hey guys, Need a bit of advice if you'd mind giving it! Basically I am wondering whether an Ashdown ABM500 EVO II head would do a good job of powering an 810 cabinet? Obviously if the impedances matched etc etc. Would the head be able to power the cab sufficiently or would it be under powered? A bit about me: I play a Musicman Stringray 3EQ in a heavy rock band with a similar sound to KillSwitch Engage/ Avenged Sevenfold. I am up against a lot of electronic samples, two EVH5505 guitar sticks, a lot of backing vocals and a big a$$ drumkit... I am aiming for a warm, low, punchy sound (which I am achieving currently) but need it bigger and much louder! Thanks guys, any advice that you give would be much appreciated.
 13. Hi guys, Basically I am looking at removing the head from my Ashdown ABM500 EVO III 210 combo to use it with a different set of speaker combinations and I have some questions that I hope you can advise on. Firstly, is it difficult to remove a head from a combo casing? (guess that might be quite a subjective question) Secondly, is it difficult constructing a new amp housing? (i'm guessing that the head will be designed to go into a new "casing" rather than a rack) Any advice you give would be massively appreciated! Thanks dudes EDIT: Wasn't sure which forum this was supposed to go into, please be gentle...
 14.
Yeah, I understand. I certainly hope that happens, I'd love to sell the jazz to you. I think that's much more likely to happen if you have your own thread so more people know there is a Stingray for sale. Good luck
Bump. Seems like a saweet Bass, shame it isn't active or a USA as that's what I'm hunting for... Good luck with the sale though dude.
