SFX Analog Chorus

I recently commissioned Max (silent fly) at SFX Sound to make me an analog chorus based on a CE-2 with a few tweaks. Here is my review of the unit.

BUILD QUALITY - 10
Anyone who has been following the SFX thread in the affiliates forum will know that Max's pedals are very special indeed. This pedal is no exception.
The finish on the enclosure is superb, with it's smooth almost mirror like surface and clearly labelled decal that surrounds the controls.
The pedal has a look of simplicity and cleanliness to it which backed up with it's solid high build quality got me eager to plug in and have a bash. Plus it's got a blue led!

FUNCTIONALITY/CONTROLS - 10
I wanted a pedal based on a CE-2, optimised for bass with tru bypass.
In addition to the familiar CE-2 controls of 'depth' and 'rate', we decided to add an 'FX Level' and a couple of switches. One of which controls the 'mode' of the pedal and the other, the 'filter' of the pedal. The 'mode' switch enables you to flit between two chorus types, position 1 being the classic CE-2 sound and the other, a variation of this. The 3 position 'filter' switch enables you to affect your entire signal, your highs and mids or just your highs, i.e very useful!
Between these controls I can get a lot of variations in the sound which makes this pedal very flexible indeed. A swiss army knife of chorus!
It also has a dual output for either mono or stereo chorus!!!

SOUND - 10
Clear lush chorus with lots of variation, subtle to saturated, it's all there! You can't get a bad sound out of it. I've tried it with both guitar and bass and it sounds fantastic on either. I would imagine this sounding lovely with a fretless bass. There is no change in EQ when the pedal is engaged, it sounds completely natural and there are no volume jumps.

CUSTOMER SERVICE - 10
Max is a great guy and kept me informed all of the way throughout the build process. The pedal was securely packaged when I took delivery of it.

I would recommend this pedal to anyone looking for a good, solid, musical sounding chorus. Max is a pedal guru and the quality and VFM of his creations is second to none. I will definitely be ordering some other SFX wizardry in the near future.

If anyone has any questions about the pedal, drop me or Max (silent fly) a PM.
