Fender "Diamond Anniversary" (2006) USA Precision **SOLD**

Hi everyone!

First off I need to say I don't really want to sell this bass, but unfortunately needs must. I bought it brand new in 2008 from PMT in Birmingham, so I probably paid too much for it, but I tried all the American P's in the shop and this one had the sound I was looking for. The ash body, string through bridge and maple fretboard/neck combo seemed to produce the best P growl I'd ever heard, with the maple neck really adding to the top end. It also comes equipped with the (optional) S1 switch, which I'm sure everyone knows does not add much to the sound of the Precision (and so I have seldom used it) but it is what it is. As mentioned in the title it is a "Diamond Anniversary" model from 2006, and the colour is Transparent Sunset Orange. Because it was a transparent colour, the body is ash compared to the solid colours from that year which I believe had alder bodies.

The bass has sat in its case for most of its life as I've always tended to favour my Stingrays when playing live, though it is a beautiful sounding (and looking) example of a classic P. The photos don't do the wood grain justice, but I've done my best. There isn't a single mark on her, and I would therefore list it in "as new" condition with only the slightest amount of surface rust on the exposed pickup pole pieces (which could probably be removed quite easily). The case only has a couple of minor scuff marks (removable with a bit of elbow grease), and it comes with all the original case candy (truss rod allen wrench, Fender strap, cleaning cloth, case keys, etc.) still in their original bag having never been used. I remember paying close to £1000 for this bass new, and I have seen the market for P basses seems quite varied depending on the particular bass, so I figure I will ask for offers in the region of £800, before I decide whether I want to put this up on ebay. As I said needs must, so I thought I'd see if there was any interest here first.

I am located near Bromsgrove, just south of Birmingham where the M5 meets the M42 and would prefer collection as I wouldn't want to post it. I am also quite happy to accommodate anyone wanting to see/try the bass first. I can accept PayPal or other forms of payment so feel free to make an offer. All the photos can be seen at http://s13.photobucket.com/albums/a296/dswalton/Fender%20P/, but here are a few to give you an idea of what I'm offering up for sale. If there are any problems accessing my photobucket photos, then please let me know. I can also take more photos upon request. I have sold a few items on this forum before (amps, cabs, effects) so I'm sure there are a few people who can vouch for me as an honest seller. I haven't been around as much lately due to our recent arrival, but hopefully that will change in the near future! :)

Here are the photos:

And cheers for looking!
