SG Bass - Spot the difference?

I have finally admitted to myself that I am never going to the guitarist I'd like to be. So I am going to concentrate my time improving my bass playing which seems to come more naturally.

With that in mind I'm thinking of upgrading to a new SG bass

Can anyone explain why the SG Standard bass is £300 + more than the Faded?

Apart from the finish & inlays the specs appear the same to me. I like the 'worn' look of the Faded so the finish isn't an issue.

If anyone has any thoughts/ opinions on the SG bass I'd be grateful to hear them.

Thanks
Rob

Basically, it's down to the time/effort that it takes to add those small extras. Installing the fancy inlays and applying a high-gloss finish add significantly to the build time, which results in a higher cost being passed down to the customer. If you're happy with the faded finish, then you're getting essentially the same bass cheaper.
