Rosie C Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago (edited) Not my gig, but I was in the studio yesterday recording the first couple of tracks for my second album. The studio engineer, who is also guitarist and sometime backing vocalist on my recordings, casually dropped into the conversation that he opened for Planet Rock's "Winters End" festival on Thursday... and I get this guy whenever I need on my amateur recordings! ossyrocks Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I'm having quite a difficult week. Started feeling a bit "off" on Monday, by rehearsal on Wednesday I was "taking it easy" on the vocals. Come Thursday I lost my voice entirely and had a very sore throat, a cough, and felt weary, but I was house bass player at Lancaster Funk Club in the evening, and got through it just about. Friday I had committed to a dep gig with another Blues band, thankfully an early shift 6pm-8pm, so was home and in bed by 9.30pm. Today my band are top spot at The January Blues Festival in Colne, and there's no way I can sing a note. Thankfully we share lead vocal duties, so we've hashed out a set where I don't sing at all, but it's still going to be hard as I feel like death. My wife has also come down with it. We think it's covid, but I have no choice but for the show to go on. Wish me luck! Rob 7 Quote
