M13 / M9 expression pedal – would this work?

Sounds like it should be OK and much cheaper than the alternatives.

How are these used, with a normal mono patch or would I need stereo to 2 x mono jack Y type leads?

they use a standard mono jack, but the max resistance might be an issue - there are some threads on Talkbass which mention 25Kohm (IIRC) being the max value of the pot in the expression pedal. Easiest option would be a 2nd hand Line6 EX-1 pedal off ebay

A little update which might be of use to someone in the future if they're using the search function, [url="http://www.bespeco.it/detail.php?mac=6&cat=116&sub=0&det=2922&lingua=en"]these work[/url] and are under £15 on ebay.

Curiously nowhere in the manuals does it tell you to connect the pedal before powering the unit up, it doesn't seem to recognise it otherwise. :)
