Getting into the Swing

So basically since I stopped having lessons I've stopped pushing myself and have pretty much become a lazy slob. I used to be willing to play almost anything, that's not to say I could play almost anything (far from it) but at least I'd try. But ever since, I'll find something I can't play and I'll just give up - and it's been really annoying me.

Without going on a personal slating I find that I always get to a certain level (in anything, sport, music etc.) and then it's like I hit a wall and can't progress any further, no matter what I do.

So basically this is a plea to anyone for some suggestions. I would really love to get back into playing bass again as I would give anything to be playing on a professional level (for the music, not the money) but simply don't have the motivation.

I am mostly into all things heavy but when it comes to bass pretty much anything goes.

So if anyone has any suggestions on what to do then that would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers guys :)

If that is so it should be easy. Or do you mean you would give anything as long as someone else pushes you and gives you the motovation?

If you do manage to get to a professional level you will be faced with a huge struggle every day just to get the work and enough to live on. If you don't have that drive now then you should probably look at doing something else for a living.

Alternatively .....
Just stop doing anything else, get some lessons, get in a band and make that everything you do...

Get a 5 year plan together, get a to do list, set some goals to achieve .....
Join a band. Make music. Remarkably motivating.

If you can get in one that is already gigging you will probably have more motivation than you want!!
+1 to that.

I find not wanting to look like a total twat highly motivating. :)
