I have a P-Bass with a DiMarzio Split-P pickup in it, wired straight down to the jack.

When i've sheilded the cavity and the back of the plate will the jack fitting ground it? once the lead from the bridge is grounded too?

Thanks!!

p.s. is it just worth lashing the knobs back in even though they aren't used?

why the shielding...do make sure the bridge is earthed cleanly..the pots arent needed any more leave them wired up but not connected to the pup...no signal..no noise

Ah cool, what should I lash the lead coming from the bridge too then, the cold lug on the jack?
