Bass hiss problem..

So, I've noticed the problem during gigs - I'm hissing quite heavily when put through PA.

I thought, maybe it's in the amp - i've tried to go straight to the line, no amp, and so on, but problem remains in the bass. Only if I cut the highs all the way, it's less noticeable, but, anyway..

The thing is, what I've noticed, it may have something to do with stage lights - I've noticed, that, when I was put through PA with no stage lights, there was no hiss from me(my bass)!

In both venues, that I had problem with, sound engineers swore that 'grounding' is made in those venues, but, I wouldn't believe them 100%..

My bass is [i]active [/i]Ibanez Prestige, one from the 'quality' ones, so, I don't think it has any wiring problems, or such..

So, anyone could give me an idea, how does bass interfere with stage lights?

Yes, it can be stage lights. I seem to suffer a lot at venues with dimmer switches on the lights. When the lights are dimmed down, I get a huge amount of 60 cycle hum at one place in particular.

I had this problem at a few gigs, and I posted a recent thread about it.As your bass is active, it will accentuate the problem. Have you got a ground lift on the amp?

A Boss Noise Suppressor would probably help.

I have it (ground lift) on the amp, but it doesn't seem much help..
