[i]Staff from Salisbury District Hospital have organised an eight hour live music festival in the grounds of Philipps House Dinton on Saturday, August 22 to raise funds for the Stars Appeal’s Caring 4 Kids campaign.

The 888 Music Festival will see eight bands made up of staff and friends from Salisbury District Hospital who will perform an eclectic mix of music styles to suit all tastes, including rock, pop and soul.

Kenny Duke, Salisbury District Hospital porter and main organiser of the event said: “We have got some fantastic bands performing, including Orange Street who regularly perform in London and nationwide. Also Jambo Reign, featuring consultant pathologist Ian Cook, who are forging a reputation for their energetic live performances around Salisbury and beyond. We have had a fantastic response so far and tickets are selling very fast. We are really looking forward to a great day and raising money for the Caring 4 Kids campaign.”

“The festival is suitable for the whole family and there will be a hog roast, a variety of catering vans along with a bar serving real ales, ciders and wine. There will also be a fireworks finale provided by Classic Fireworks to round off what is going to be a truly memorable event.”

Hannah Paye from the Stars Appeal said: “It is wonderful that so many of the staff here at the hospital are giving up their time to organise and perform at the 888 Festival. We are delighted that they have decided to support the Caring 4 Kids campaign and are looking forward to seeing colleagues showing off their talents.”

Lucy Hind, Cardiac Secretary and one of the organisers said: “We are delighted to have been given the opportunity to hold this festival at Philipps House as it is such a beautiful location. Working at the hospital enables me and the other organisers to see what a difference the Caring 4 Kids campaign is going to make to thousands of children, which is why we are so dedicated to helping in any way we can.”

Tickets are available on the 888 hotline 07754821116, you can request them by email at [email protected] and from Dinton Post Office. Tickets are limited so it is advisable to book in advance as tickets may not be available on the day.
