Ltd Elite J-5

Hello,

Does anyone have any experience with the Ltd Elite J-5 bass?  I was offered something like this in exchange but I can’t find much information about it. It would also be interesting to know what price range they are in.

No experience here, but the Elites with the quilted tops look very nice. Ballpark used values look to be around £7-800 dependent on condition. If you're planning on moving it on, be prepared to significantly cut the price, as ESP basses, nicely made though they are, aren't hugely sought after.

Tom Barney used to play that model for a while during his time in Steely Dan. I saw him use it live a couple of times and it always sounded great. If you’re looking to keep the bass rather than flip it, it should be a lovely instrument to own and play.A friend of mine who is a touring bassist in a  well known singer’s band used ESP basses for years as he had an endorsement with them. He always speaks highly of the quality and the sound. In fact I am fairly sure ESP did some work for Sadowsky with the Japanese built Metro Express basses as well.
