dave_bass5 Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 Having old just dug out my MODX7+ to use, then this comes along. I love the MODX, had a 6 and now a 7+, but of the past year been using soft synths. I think this is going to be change very soon. 1 Quote
dave_bass5 Posted November 6, 2025 Author Posted November 6, 2025 (edited) Got mine today. Cant say if it's worth the £1400 price at the moment as ill use it as a controller mostly, but its a great update to the old version. Keybed is a bit better (never had an issue with the ol version), more knobs and sliders make a world of difference. Happy so far. Will put the old one up for sale in a few weeks I guess. This saves a lot of duplication and running out of parts. Also ESP is an amazing plugin to have. Although I’m only using the M7 as a controller with Gig performer at the moment, I’m using ESP a lot. Once i sell the 7+ the upgrade wouldn’t have cost me too much. Quote
Inga Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago thank you for the insight and I mean it does sound quite helpful really, I appreciate your thoughts on it I'll have to do some research and think about going up myself Quote

Having had a MODX6 since they came out, and then i got a 7+ (more for the extra keys), its only now with the M7 that im really getting to grips with the operating system. Its so much easier to program with the extra knobs and buttons. Im doing things with it that i never did, but could, with the old versions. Having 8 sliders makes a world of difference, especially in DAW mode. I did run out of buttons on the 7+. When using Gig performer. Personally i don’t think the A-NX engine is all that. It sounds a bit thin compared to using samples in the AWM2 engine. Its nice and easy to use though, and has its uses. Saying all that, if i could have purchased ESP as a stand alone i probably would have gone that route for now, but no regrets. Quote
