THE SONS OF ILLINOIS operate out of Chelmsford, Essex.  We play exciting, crowd-pleasing Chicago Blues and we very urgently need a bassist who plays both upright bass and bass guitar.  We have a good book of really decent gigs for 2026.  We have a strong social media presence, with more than 2,000 followers on Facebook and a YouTube channel too.

 

Band line-up is:

 

Vocals/Harmonica

Lead/Slide Guitar

Lead/Rhythm Guitar

Upright/Bass Guitar - the vacant position

Drums/Percussion

What style of DB are you looking for Mark @BloozeBoy, Jazzy/melodic blues, Rockabilly/slap, Country/bluegrass…? I’m interested but last band I auditioned for on DB saw it more a crowd pleasing stunt than an instrument which is absolutely fine but not really my thing 👍
