monad Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago This is the classic Stingray and it's absolutely gorgeous! Has some marks and bumps but I am almost certain it is a 70s or 80s model. Based on the all original hardware etc. It comes with flats so you can play CHIC straight away or change to rounds for more aggressive styles. This is an amazing vintage instrument that doesn't get enough love and should go to someone else! Collection only! No trades unfortunately... Quote
StingRayBoy42 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago (edited) I could be wrong, but I think the 70s/80s models have 2 band EQs, foam mute bridges, chrome battery covers and 3 or 4 bolt neck plates. If you put the serial number into the EBMM database, it will tell you when it was made. https://www.music-man.com/serial-number-database Happy to be told otherwise by someone who knows more than me! That aside, Beautiful Bass - GLWTS! EDIT: The 3 band EQ was introduced in the mid 80s... shows what I know! Edited 3 hours ago by StingRayBoy42 Quote
Chiliwailer Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago (edited) Nice bass, but not what you think it is. Immediately, the battery cover and smaller bridge plate make it after around about 1996 IIRC. The lack of a ‘Made in San Luis…’ etc. on the back of the head shows it’s a Japanese Stingray EX model, so USA parts on a made in Japan instrument IIRC - you’ll have to check that out for sure. If it’s an EX, serial number won’t show up on the Ernie Ball database. Edited 3 hours ago by Chiliwailer 3 Quote
monad Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago Yeah, you might be right, how do I edit it and what's the real value? I was sure it's made in USA and it doesn't show up on the database because it's from the 80s. Quote
