Hi all

We Have been left a double bass when a friend passed away. It is in need of some serious repair work but I know little about where to take it or indeed if it’s worth repairing. We think it’s either German or French and Victorian.  Is there anyone who could advise us?

Your best bet is to take some pictures and post them in the EUB and Double Bass Forum. That's where people who might be able to advise you are likely to be found.

Thanks for all the feedback and advice. We’ve had a luthier look at it and taken on board lots of advice. It’s a serious project and one my husband is going to slowly renovate with support from a luthier. He has lots of experience with other instruments and woodwork in general so with support we feel this will be a nice long term project.
