FT: My 1994 Yamaha TRB6 for your Yamaha BB3000?

As I'm on a strict "one bass only" regimen and my band is starting up making noise again after a bit of a layoff, I need a great four stringer. And hard as it is to part with something that is essentially irreplaceable, this magnificent TRB6 is on the block for a trade against a nice BB3000 (or BB3000s or possibly a Spector Wimbish that isn't orange).

I'm after a light-ish BB (sub 9.5lbs) that's in good condition.

On to the TRB6...

This is from the first run of the TRB sixers and has a beautifully figured ash body, wondrous rosewood board, matching headstock (with a natty blue laminate between the ash face and maple neck) on a strong and extraordinarily stable maple neck.

The pickups are J type and the preamp (unless I'm off piste here) is the same as the one found in the Patitucci MkI. It's a growly bass with ridiculous bottom end and the higher registers sing as it's not stressed out with a 35/36"scale

....did I mention scale length? This bass has the same scale length as the TRBJP1 at 34" and the weight is quite something for a bird of these feathers. It's under 4.3Kgs which makes it a 9.5lb Yamaha sixer. Mad stuff as anyone who has been brutalised by a Yamaha six string will tell you.

It's a huge sounding bass strung with regular hi-beams (45-130) with a low action, no buzz and is happy with chords across the board. I love it, but I need that very specific four string.

As an aside, I have owned a TRBJP1 and these basses are essentially the same but with less 'ping' on the note from the rosewood board (I prefer the sound of this bass) and no figured top or bass clef inlays...these are all elements that would be preferable to someone who wants less bling.

Anyhow, here are the pics. It's in fantastic condition (along with a virtually mint case) from its frets down to the cute little plastic guide to what the knobs do. I will miss it, but I hope I will be suitably engrossed with a BB3000 in its place to not burst into tears on a regular basis (I love a BB3000 probably as much as I love a TRB6)

Meet up only thanks.
