NGD Yamaha AES800b

In 2001/2 I went to Sound Control, I had recently decided that all guitarists were crap, and I after 5 or so years playing bass would show them what guitar playing was.

 

I was going to write songs and play guitar and do solos and stuff.

 

I’d seen a guitarist magazine review of this fancy blue Yamaha and it hung on the wall in the shop gleaming.

 

It didn’t work (a SC specialty), it had a loose volume pot and dicky jack socket. I know the DiMarzio pickups sounded great for the seconds they worked.

 

I ended up with a beautiful telecaster 72 custom instead.

 

But it always bothered me; I wanted the blue Yamaha with a bigsby.

 

Anyhow - they’ve cropped up occasionally, but seem to be abused.

 

this one is ok, a few marks - not bad for 23/24 years old.

 

Needs a clean and new strings.

 

But it seems to play well.
