Hi everybody,

Here’s my 2018 Sire V7 Marcus Miller 5 Gen 1 in mint condition, 

not played that much as I have a few to play fortunately.

I bought it new Dec 2018,  then got a Sire Fretless 5 and P7 Gen 2 fiver so I need to shed one of them. Sold it before ,briefly ,then bought it straight back on Basschat! I need to pay off a recent purchase and my Bass Fund is empty.

They’re exciting basses. Very versatile, a controllable powerful preamp 

whether Gen 1 or 2. 

I’ll only consider close offers because this is in perfect condition and even 

the nice tort pick guard faint swirls have buffed out.

I’ll use the original Sire cardboard coffin box and an outer with packing

between the two.

 

The pickups are single coil pickups made with a fiber bobbin, Alnico 5 magnets, and heavy Formvar magnet wire.  They are positioned in the ‘60’s position.  Like everything else on this bass, the pickups are made by Sire Guitars.

This 18-volt preamp is the most versatile preamp I have used on a bass.  

When strapped up or balanced on the knee, the bass balances very well without any neck dive.

Body Shape – Marcus Miller Jazz Type , nicely balanced, no neck dive.

Neck Material – 1 Piece Hard Maple with two graphite rods.

Really nice wavy figuring on this neck.

Fingerboard – Very Dark Rosewood (looks like Ebony but Spec with bass said Rosewood, darkest I’ve ever seen, beautiful. ) with Ivory coloured Binding.

Frets – Medium Small, 20 Frets

String Nut – /5 String: Natural Bone @ 46mm width

Inlays – White Pearloid Block

Neck Joint – 4 Bolt Steel Square Plate

Pickups – Marcus Miller Super Jazz Single Coil. Alnico 5 magnets

Electronics – Pre Amp is an 18v Marcus Heritage 3 system. Both batteries

OK at 9.1 v checked today.

Controls : See photo of layout. The knobs protrude rather oddly but that’s how they are on this model.

6 month old set of D’Addario EXL170 45 65 80 100 125 ( 130 replaced)

Bass not played much but only due to having a good few to play luckily.
