US EHX Bassballs power supply problems

Hiya

I have a mate who has a US Electroharmonix Bassballs that he's trying to source a power supply for.

If you go here you will see a US, NYC Bassballs with quite clearly a standard 9v positive tip power supply.

i.e.

But, a big but, his bassballs looks like this:

Which seems to indicate an AC power supply. I haven't actually seen the pedal but it seems to have the usual 3.5 mm EHX socket.

So does anyone know if this really is an AC supplied pedal. EHX aren't answering emails on this. I find the very idea of an AC supplied pedal a bit odd.

If it truly is AC supplied where does one actually get a PSU for the beast.

Help here would be greatly appreciated.

Peter

hey peter,

The big us bassballs requires a different 9V adaptor. I got two of those mini mini jacks which came with my 1 spot visual sounds daisy chain. alternatively there are many of these multi-pedal PSUs which have a little jack 9V battery to 2.1mm cable. you could then simply connect the battery plug from the bassballs onto this and use it on daisy chains which have 2.1mm as standard. here's the link.

Many thanks

This tells me that the pedal isn't AC supplied at all, as I suspected, it's DC like any other just a 3.5mm jack :)

Pictures 5 and 6 would be the appropriate connectors, exactly the same as my Small Clone then.

Putting AC at the top of the pedal only serves to confuse.
