You put midi into the 'input' and it is duplicated 6 times. I used to have a Boss ES-5, which could output 8 different midi channels at once on its single output, but some of my pedals only had a midi input, so I couldn't daisy chain them together. This device allowed me to connect the inputs of all my midi devices to a single source, and it worked a dream. It needs power (between 9 and 12 volts dc) and it has an LED that flashes in time with the midi clock applied to the input, which is actually more useful than you might think.
