Fret work

You can but you'll just move the problem up a fret.....

Ideally you need to level all the frets, and re profile them. It aint rocket science but you do kinda need to know what you're doing.

If you're up to it then get Dan Erlewines book and make sure you know exactly what your doing then preferably try your skills& tools out on an old junker neck first....

hmm thanks, ill look into that book. My friend gave me the number of a lutemaker who lives locally who repaired his guitar, he had the same problem, im gona try and give him a call if the number still works.
