Hit&Run Posted September 27, 2008 Share Posted September 27, 2008 I've got some EMG pickups (P5J set) that have got standard pickup wires and not the Quik-Connect cables. I'm thinking of getting an EMG BQC preamp to go with the aforementioned pickups, which prompts the question: will the preamp come with Quik-Connect wiring or will my 'normal' wires be OK? Cheers. steve-soar Posted September 27, 2008 Share Posted September 27, 2008 Your normal wires will be ok. I've got both types of EMG's (Quik and old style) and I have a BTC pre in one of my basses. The other end of a Quik cable is the same as an old one, the feature is for removing pickups quickly. BTW I think you will like the EMG pre. So you will still have to get the soldering iron out.
