Hello from a old newbie...

Hi all,

Just thought I'd say hello, just picked up my bass with serious intention to learn to play it properly !!!

About me...

Bought my first Bass at 17, started to learn but got convinced to pick up a 'lead' guitar.
Spent time trying to learn lead but really wasn't interested and gave up.
About 5 years ago I bought a Bass (Ibanez GSR200?) but never had the time to learn.
Now I'm going to put some effort into learning the Bass again (it can be my therapy for a stressful life :)
I'm unlikely to ever play in a band or anything like that (don't have time) but with my daughter now learning lead at least I'll have someone to accompany.
So, I am likely to ask a lot of extremely stupid questions so I apologise in advance for that!!!
I don't have an Amp or any effects so I will play quietly until Father Christmas pays me a visit

Something every Bass player should do - sneak into the music room at school and play a Double Bass - now there is a sound that you feel as much as you hear it!!!

I'm sure I've bored you all enough,

Cheers,
Ad3y.

Were you a heavy metal guitarist.

Cider in my veins.

Welcome aboard.

I'll get my coat.[/quote]

Those are terrible, made me chuckle though :)
Thanks for the welcome everyone.
