I got this to replace a mesa M2000 and it’s equally as good for tone but a fraction of the weight and size. After trying a few Class D amps (Genz shuttle, TC rebel, Markbass F1) and not liking them as much as big heavy amps, I really had to think hard about getting this but it blows them all out the water. Huge amounts of power on tap and stunning tone, it’s really easy to get a solid warm but articulate tone out of the D800. The voicing control really works and gives the head a good usable range of sounds from vintage to modern hifi. I only play double bass these days and were upgrading the PA so we can all DI so I’ve got no need for such a nice amp anymore. £650 including postage complete with Mesa gigbag.
