Here I have for sale my lovely Hofner HCT Contemporary Series Violin Bass in Sunburst. I purchased this second hand from GAK on the 28th December 2013 (if my memory serves me correctly, however it was definitely in late December :P) for £515 with hard case (also pre-owned). However, I have realised that I hardly ever play it, as I am primarily a drummer and guitarist and when playing bass found myself picking up another bass instead. It's a shame because the Hofner sounds absolutely amazing but it's not getting the love and attention it deserves and so that is why I am listing it for sale. Also included in the sale is an Epiphone Viola hard case which is extremely robust and I find it is much more sturdy than the Hofner cases. I have recently re-strung it with a brand new set of Hofner contemporary strings, as I actually really liked the sound of them.

The bass is in pretty good condition, however there are a few things I should point out and all of these can be seen in the pictures. There is a small chip in the paint on the headstock next to the G string tuner, one of the pickup rings appears to have split (this was there when I bought it), one of the screws on the control plate has split the wood a tiny bit so the control plate wobbles around a bit (this was also there when I bought it and I never found it to be a problem). There is also a really tiny dent in the body parallel with the bridge pickup (so small and hard to see that it wouldn't show up in any of the pictures so I drew a green ring around where it is in one picture). The bass occasionally rattles, however from doing some research this is likely to be shavings of wood inside the body of the bass, which I'm sure you could remove if you so desired. However, it never bothered me so i just left it. Of course the hardcase also has a few scuffs and marks but nothing major and hey, isn't that the point of a hard case?

I'm asking £325 £300 collected from Gosport, Hampshire. I am extremely reluctant to ship this bass and would definitely prefer cash on collection, however if you absolutely must have it shipped and decide to arrange your own courier, then that is your business and I will not be held responsible for anything that happens to the bass during transit. As soon as it leaves my house, it is no longer of my concern. So for that reason, I would prefer you collect :D

(some pictures are better quality than others, which is why some appear more than once)
If you would like a picture of any other part of the bass, please let me know :)[/s]
