My local dealer has these in stock but cannot find any reviews of these here. He seems to have a lot of these in stock and are priced at £29.99 so not cheap then! I reckon he has had a special purchase of these and not sold any since he has asked me to report back if I try them and let him know what I think? Hmmmm. Jazz Chrome flatwounds! IMO these strings are horrible , the A string was kinked when I took it out of the packet and the strings were so rough they felt like roundwounds , they looked kind of like them too. Soundwise they had no thump and sounded like dead roundwounds rather than flats. The tension also seemed high for the gauge. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I actually took a look at these today and I have to agree, I initially thought they were round wounds n ot flats! I will not be stringing up with these then. Many thanks for the heads up. squire5 Posted June 6, 2008 Share Posted June 6, 2008 I seem to remember our guitarist using Black Diamond strings as a sort of 2nd rate standby,but that was back in the late 60s.They weren't too highly thought of then.But maybe things have improved since then.
