Pete1967 Posted February 26, 2013 Share Posted February 26, 2013 I've done the full weeks course, and I've been in Jon's workshop when a maintenance course was running. If you want to be able set up instruments to a professional standard and not make a complete horlicks of it, it's worth it, definitely. Jon will teach you all the steps for setting up an instrument. Neck removal, fret installation, fret levelling and recrowning, neck refitting, height and intonation adjustments, nut maintenance, neck relief, the lot..... I'd always tinkered with my basses and knew what everything did, but having Jon stand over me and really explain the finer details really took my understanding and abilities to another level.
