Also, with there being no truss rod, what's the deal with using different gauge strings? I.e. do you end up with higher action if you use heavier strings? FrederikVanDuuren Posted October 5, 2012 Share Posted October 5, 2012 (edited) Thats the beauty of these composite stiff necks from ZON... it does not move much the action by changing strings gauge all you need to do is change some minor string height on the bridge saddles i did put some piccolo strings on my ZON VB4 lately... no action fix needed! [/quote] Yeah, same here. I imagine it to have a punchy/growly tone like a Warwick Fortress Mastermann or a MusicMan 'Ray. I really do love the tone of the Zon basses; so clear and rounded. Lovely!
