ead Posted July 27, 2012 Share Posted July 27, 2012 Following on from the P/MM post, Is it possible to rewire a bass with a Jazz p/up (neck position) and an MM p/up (bridge position) such that with a suitable 5-way rotary switch, and treating the bass as 3 single coil p/ups (is an MM the same as a humbucker in this respect?), can give you the following options: Bridge single coil Bridge Humbucker Middle single coil Mid/Neck Humbucker Neck single coil Any thoughts, wiring diagrams, switch suggestions etc welcome! brensabre79 Posted July 27, 2012 Share Posted July 27, 2012 I think you can split the coils on a MM pickup, you might have to open it up first, and if you're treating it like 3 single coil pickups its exactly the same as a strat wiring, except the middle pickup would be wired out of phase with the other two...
