Hi Folks,

Just wondering if anybody's checked out these two records?

I just bought them the other day and there's some great stuff on there!

I particular I love Jimmy Johnson's grooving on the Allan Holdsworth composition 'Fred'. Some of the most fluid and beautiful bass playing I've ever heard!

Alex Machacek's 'Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Brothers' is another incredible track on there. I really like his playing and compositional style.

Here's a wee vid of Gary talking about the records:-

Yes - I've got vol.1 and there's heaps of good bass playing on it. Jimmy sounds great on most of the tunes. Mark King pops up too.

I'm liking the guitarists too. A lot of Allan Holdsworth and a track with John McLaughlin, Steve Hackett and others.

Gary Husband has some address book.

Yeah, I'm a big Holdsworth and McLaughlin fan. I'm always happy to hear more from those guys! :)

I'm also a big Mark King fan. It's really interesting to hear Mark and John play together on the track 'Sulley' (on vol. 2).
