Rate for pub bands in London?

Hi,
My band are based in Ireland and are looking to do some pub gigs in London over maybe 3 nights. Just wondering what is the 'going rate' that pubs would normally pay a 4 piece band. Our band plays a range of classic and modern rock (U2, Killers, Kings of Leon, Thin Lizzy, Police, Stereophoncis)

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

[sub]Not the person to ask as haven't done this for ages.[/sub]

[sub]We use to get £200 at Dover St wine bar but that was the best part of 20 yrs ago, IIRC... but it was a very hard gig to get into...[/sub]

[sub]Most of the others had cover charges so in theory you could make a lot..but you had to see a lot as well.[/sub]

[sub]Should be a couple of guys along soon who are closer to the action and more upto date.. [/sub]

Hey Slap1970,

It appears that things haven't changed much in 20 years! (JTUK)

We're currently gigging the pub circuit and get £200 - £300 for 2 x 1 hr set. Saying that, there's no door charge and you're kind of expected to bring a crowd along to supplement the fee. The way we've found it works is getting a gig with a respected pub and then using that as leverage or actually the Landlord's do talk with each other and recommend. Although I suspect that none of this will be beneficial for your situation of stepping straight in and you may find it a challenge to line up 3 paid gigs straight off the bat. Oh and a lot of pubs require you provide your own backline/PA.

Have a crack though mate.
Good luck!
