Hello everyone,

I'm new both to this forum and to bass playing (sort of).
So there's this thing - I'm an overseas student in England and I decided to start playing bass. I need to get a guitar, but I already have an old apm back home. The amp is Hartke b120 and it would cost around £55 to get it to England. I was wondering whether I should go for getting it here or maybe sell it and buy something else in UK. My tiny budget for both the guitar and amp/amp transportation is around £300-£350 (of course more if I manage to sell the amp).
Also in general, is that Hartke any good? I don't really have the equipment (guitar) and the playing skills to test it properly. I want to play some jazz if that helps at all.

Cheers! :)

Personally, having done a bit of shipping between counties, I wouldn't bother with shipping. £350 can get you decently setup with something playable from this forum.

For example if I was going to get started today I would get this:

and this

sorted.
