Super 8 Cynics' new music video...

My Super 8 Cynics bandmates Ady and Mike hit Manchester recently to film a new vid for one of our tracks, 'Doing What I've Always Done', which stars the indomitable Jon Baker from Ady's covers/bill-paying band the Funtime Frankies. It's literally gone online in the past 5 or 10 minutes, so be one of the first to check it out.

Bass-wise, that's my Stingray 4 through (if I can remember rightly) a Trace head (can't remember which head specifically- the rig belonged to our synth player and he's since moved it on) and a Trace 2x10, with a touch of Sansamp grit added on Pro Tools. It's been ages since we recorded the track for our (still as-yet unreleased) debut album. I think this one was recorded back in 2009, but we've only just got round to getting a video done for it (or rather, doing a video for it ourselves).

Note the suitably retro tom sound on the pre-chorus drum fill! The synths are (mostly) Mike's retro collection, including a Moog Rogue, Roland Jupiter 8 and a few other bits of expensive kit like the DSI Prophet 08.

Enjoy!

Fantastic!

Let us know when the album is out. I trust it will be a physical product?

Thanks for the comment!

Hopefully. We recorded it a while ago but we've not yet got round to releasing anything. We've got a standalone single coming up and we're also planning to record an EP at some stage too.
