Pardon my ignorance, but can anyone recommend an Octave which offers both clean octave up and down? Does one exist?

The old Pearl range included the OC-07 Octaver which can do 2 down and 1 up - it has four level knobs, one for each octave and one to blend in the normal note.

Very nice but can be pricey. The last few on Ebay varied from £65 to £118.

Well, thanks to the Basschat GAS effect, this thread has cost me £50 (including P&P), as I now have an OC-2 off that eBay. Nice toy - certainly. Will I use it in the heat of battle - possibly.

I like the sound with octave 1 and dry at 12-o'clock. With the dry rolled off a bit and octave boosted by the same amount it might find service being punched in to fake some low notes as I haven't quite yet joined the five-string camp!

I noticed that if play a sustained note on the G-string, the "octaved" note dies quite quickly - is this a common issue?
