Mikeg Posted October 19, 2011 Share Posted October 19, 2011 My guitarist brother built himself a 2x12 guitar cab. it looks quite nice, the shape inside is just a box with the speakers atached to the front. Now that he has no use for it i want to turn it into a bass cab by putting some speakers in. is there any obvious problems with this? Also where can i get hold of some good quality speakers for a reasonable price? Mr. Foxen Posted October 19, 2011 Share Posted October 19, 2011 Bit more to bass cabs than bass speaker sin a box, need a big box, and often a port to have any low end, then you have to tune the port. Be alright for guitary sounding bass with a guitar amp, with no bottom as is. Its only when you try and eq the bass in or use a bass amp that you get problems.
