Hello bassists.

I have been spending willy nilly on bits of kit, so am having a clear-out.

Here is my first "real proper" bass, bought in about 1984 (JT - can you remember when it was?)

Lovely all singing and dancing 80's Jap craftsmanship.

Original pickups have been replaced by Kent Armstrong (when he was still living in the UK) with his soap-bar replacement humbuckers, which are super quiet and added beef and punch to the sound. The original pickups are included in the sale and are working fine. Should you wish me to swap them back to the originals I will do that and include the humbuckers in with the bass.

The bass has seen its fair share of action and has numerous dinks (all marks have been photographed and are on Flickr).

Price is £495 delivered in the UK.

Anyone is welcome to come and try the bass anytime. I'm located in Ashford, Kent.

Lots of pictures on Flickr here : </a>

Cheers for looking.

This is a total bargain. I Borrowed the slightly lighter coloured one for a few months and I still miss that sound! It sounded amazing with the original single coils in so I'm almost afraid to hear it with the Kent Armstrongs! Someone should jump on this fast as it's easily worth twice this price!

Thanks for you comments chrismuzz - the humbuckers are nothing to be afraid of - they are things of beauty. They have different windings from each other - Kent wound the neck pickup to be "Precision-like" and the bridge pickup to be "Jazz-like". In passive, just toggling the pickup selector gives the bass surprisingly different tonal characteristics. The active is really usable too. Lovely choice of bass / mid / treble frequency cut and boost really enhance what passive sound is putting out.

Ha-ha. Thanks Dubs.
