Hello!

Well, I've finally decided to put my Barker B1 up for sale. I've really enjoyed it, but I need to thin the herd a bit. If you've never seen one, they are very unique instruments. You can see all the details at www.barkerbass.com. The luthier, Lee Barker, is a great guy and wonderful to talk with. He started making these basses so that he could keep playing after getting carpal tunnel syndrome. When you play it, both of your wrists are nice and straight. This one (#75) has a 34", fretted, four-string, jazz neck. I've installed Nordstrand MM4.2 pickups and a StellarTone ToneStyler. I'll include the original pickups and pot in case you want to put it back to its original configuration. I will also include the gig bag, stand, and a set of foam mutes. It is currently strung with LaBella flat wounds. It does a few tiny dings. I can try to take pictures of them if you would like, but I'm not sure if they will show up or not. Here are some pictures. I'll add more as time allows. As far as I know, there are only two of these basses in country.

I'm asking £1,000 o.b.o. (They are $3795 new.) Please send me a PM if you are interested.

Thanks for looking!

Lee told me that he got the idea for shape from a statue of a lady in his garden...

If you've never seen a Barker bass before, imagine putting a jazz bass on end and adding a huge chambered body. Since it is held up by its stand rather than your body, its sustain goes on forever!
