hello all again. hope someone can help. I have aqquired a lined, fretless, MIA fender precision. it plays very nicely and I recently had it set up by a luthier who thought I'd got myself a bargain. the seial number is N552234 which I believe makes it 1995. I'm confused cos I can find absolutely NO listings for it or any info about it on the net at all. I've never owned a fender, so maybe this is perfectely normal but the 'N5' part of the serial number is a different typeface and is slightly offset from the rest of the serial number, is this normal? maybe the lack of info means it's rare, or maybe I've been burned, I don't know. As I said it plays and looks very nice so I'm not too bothered, but if anyone can shed any light it would most appreciated. sorry for long winded post. thanks.

The N5 part of the serial number being in a different type face is normal - the necks are made in batches and the date codes are put on then the rest of the serial number later. I had a Jazz that was the same.
