  1. cheers chaps! wouldn't seem so odd if they were made during different time periods, but maybe it's more common than I think - from what you've said I have a feeling they ARE the same but might ask on the matsumoku forum cos I REALLY wanna know now! ta.
  2. Hi all, hope someone can shed some light for me. I've just seen an Aria Proll TSB 650 on ebay - sold for £160, a bargain in my opinion. The headstock reads 'TRI SOUND BASS', - seems IDENTICAL to the 'THOR SOUND BASS' in every detail, even the period made ie 1979-83. Anyone know the difference? Thanks in advance for any replies, Chris.

  6. thank you very much. my mind is now totally at rest. cheers guys.
  7. nice one for the replies guys, it's very reassuring. any thoughts on the serial number, or am I just being a fussy git! thanks again.
  8. hello all again. hope someone can help. I have aqquired a lined, fretless, MIA fender precision. it plays very nicely and I recently had it set up by a luthier who thought I'd got myself a bargain. the seial number is N552234 which I believe makes it 1995. I'm confused cos I can find absolutely NO listings for it or any info about it on the net at all. I've never owned a fender, so maybe this is perfectely normal but the 'N5' part of the serial number is a different typeface and is slightly offset from the rest of the serial number, is this normal? maybe the lack of info means it's rare, or maybe I've been burned, I don't know. As I said it plays and looks very nice so I'm not too bothered, but if anyone can shed any light it would most appreciated. sorry for long winded post. thanks.
  9. thanks for the info musky, much appreciated. thanks
  10. hello all, I hope someone can help. I have a question about the Aria Pro ll TSB (Thor Sound Bass) 650, made in the Matsamuko factory between 1979 and 1983(maybe 84) - were they all made to 32" scale or were they also made to full 34" scale? any replies would be greatly appreciated. many thanks.
