drewk_ie Posted April 21, 2011 Share Posted April 21, 2011 (edited) Hi, I was wondering if any anyone out there could help me figure out the 3/4 bass I have? I purchased "Big Al" about four years ago and had it professionally set up by Tony Thompson (Luthier based in Wicklow, Ireland). Big Al plays like a dream, and has been hired out by Pokey Lafarge & the south city three to name but a few, anyone who has played him, can't praise the sound or the tone out of him enough... so at least that's positive. There are no markings/ labels on the bass, although the adjustable bridge (which I don't think is original) bears the marking BTS patented, so not sure if that helps... Also - if you happen to be out Galway direction, Tom Barrett is a fantastic source of all things DB and a mine of information - might be able to assist you also. /A.
