I've been looking at buying a new well-padded softcase, something like the Protec Contego. However, I saw this [url="http://www.dawsons.co.uk/acatalog/armourdillo_deluxe_bass_guitar_soft_case_rc-200b.html"]Armourdillo case[/url] and wondered if anyone had any experience with them? The case looks pretty decent, more of a 'hybrid' than anything else, so it's something I'm looking at, but information on it is sparse and I'm hesitant to buy something that no-one else has tried. goblin Posted April 5, 2011 Share Posted April 5, 2011 I've used them before, they're not bad on the protection front, infact it's better than the Stagg case my Jazz lives in and the Freestyle I carry one of the Warwicks in, although not as good as my Hiscox. However, them strap handles are a bit long to you're carrying it quite close to the floor making steps a pain in the neck, and also I found that it had a habit of arse diving as the handle's in the middle, but the body of the bass is often heavier than the neck. son of frog Posted April 27, 2011 Share Posted April 27, 2011 (edited) Ive recently got a Peavey Bass Case, When i got it ot was the last one they had in stock, and i got it for £40 and its really good, other than the bolts that bolt the swing mechanism of the handle on, But i quickly put some strong bolts on and loc-tite'd the nuts and washers on. I can reccomend Hiscox as well Highly, I know several Session Bassists who have flown all over the world with them and never had a problem, And unlike a flight case you wont have to pay extra money for going over your weight limit.
