Suggest a pickup

A Kent Armstrong toaster might not be far off that size. It's nominally a guitar pickup, but so are the Rickenbacker toasters. I have one in my bass and it sounds really good. It's a single coil with a fairly high output. WD music have them - Kent Armstrong Toaster

Make up a new scratchplate (or have one made), then you can fit whatever the hell you like, then revert it back to stock when you finally get rid of it.
Gibson Firebird pickups (chromed soapbars) always look good on Ricks, dont worry about the 6 pole thing, all original Rick "Toaster" pickups were 6 pole as well, and nobody EVER complained :).

Was thinking of a toaster, I suppose Allparts scratchplates are pretty cheap eh? Cheers for the advice guys. I was thinking of a cheaper no name toaster but I think I'll plump for the Kent Armstrong, the bass feels well made and is nice to play so may as well not cut corners. It'll look the bollocks as well.

Incidently, what do toasters actually sound like on ricks? The idea of a guitar pickup in a bass always seemed totally daft to me.

I'm beginning to think nothing is mate. Tis a weird shape for sure!

I missed out on the ebay pair of these the other day by £2 :)
