On a slightly different note, I really admire Lucas Pickford's transcription skills. He has a huge library of stuff he's transcribed and some are more than a little tough to play, let alone figure out by ear, which I presume is his main method of transcription.

Thanks for the (correct) link, I don't think I'll learn any of them but it's good to have.

If you look closely you'll see a large proportion of those transcriptions are by other people, and a lot of them have mistakes, some minor, some glaring. Most of the ones he's done himself are very good though!

Oh that is interesting. It does make a bit more sense as that it heckuva lot of transcribed material. Whilst I'm aware that some people transcribe that much, it's a bit more *normal* to see he's consolidated others work together with his own.

Lots of transcriptions and reading practice! I've used Lucas Pickford's site for quite a long time - Lucas's transcriptions are good but some of the ones done by other people have some odd errors. I'm just finishing up transcribing the songs from the Nightfly and have come up with some quite different lines. One other thing that would be nice is, where possible, to put the chords in. I did a Yellowjackets track a while ago and learned more from transcribing the chords than I did from the bass line and solo.
