moonbass Posted February 20, 2011 Share Posted February 20, 2011 (edited) Hi, For sale a rather briefly used set of EMG JVX pickups. These are direct replacement pickups for Jazz basses. They're pretty much the same as the EMG JVs but with slightly higher output level. To my ear they also sound slightly more 'modern' than the JVs (hence the sale) with more top end. I bought them as I was getting hum when recording with my Jazz and they are great sounding, but not really 'vintage' sounding, more like a very nice super-jazz sound. Completely silent, smooth and even sound with plenty of growl and bite. They've only been in for a couple of months and really haven't been played much at all. If you've not used EMGs before they require no soldering as they have natty little clips to connect everything. In the interests of full disclosure be aware they have longer shafts on the pots than Fender so you need to change your knobs, and it's also quite tight in the electronics cavity when you've got everything in, but it does all fit!
