Where can I get them? I don't want overly long ones, and I don't want overly expensive ones.
I don't really care much about them being super-high-quality-non-oxide-copper-ionised-unobtanium-cored or whatever. I want ones that work to a decent standard.
Is my best bet making my own?

A question though - For the first exercise, the little bit of notation at the end of the paragraph says to play quarter notes, but you seem to play it in eighth notes. Which one are you meant to play?

I'm well tempted to go Markbass + Schroeder 1212L. Apparently they sound middy as owt and I love mids.
Also been considering Markbass + Aguilar DB112. Anyone have comments on this?
