I would like this to not turn into a JHS-bashing thread but in a nutshell the controversy stems from JHS using circuits which are very close clones of other effects and some people have reported reliability issues.

Fender High Mass Vintage bridge as standard on most American Fenders since 2008 I believe. Pictured below next to a US Deluxe bridge.

This has been on a parts bass for a while with some light use. Does not include mounting screws but any string-thru Fender bridge screws will work.

Empress Compressor... parallel compression and enough squeeze for my tastes and it doesn't really impart its own character on your tone, it just enhances what's already there. It's ALWAYS on in my rig.

For £10k you'd think he'd post more than three mediocre pictures....

I tend to order this in bulk every six months or so from the US.

I use this strings exclusively (apart from LaBella flats on a P).

Excellent strings! Really nice under the fingers, comfy tension, lots of room for bends. Great tone which lasts for a long while!

All those modern touches and no easy truss rod access....

It's a bit of a ramble but it has some info about hearing protection, IEMS and coping strategies.

I hope it helps others in some way or another as my hearing damage is something I wish I could change if I had the chance.

Hey all! I picked up the relatively new Boss VO-1 Vocoder this week. I haven't had a lot of time to properly play with it but it's a very promising (and FUN) pedal:

When you use the blend you can get some really nice, funky bass sounds. In the demos above I was aiming to show how it can process a monotone voice into a melody. This may be my favourite Boss pedal of all time (although I say that as someone who isn't generally a Boss fan).

I use lighter fluid for this purpose followed by a good clean.
