GR Aerotech cabs are new kids on the block. They've taken the power / weight ratio for cabs to another level using carbon fibre & other wood substitute materials.

Be useful to get a steer on what budget you have in mind - neither BF or GR are budget ranges.

Hi Al, looking to spend ideally for two cabs no more than £500\600!

Ashdown RM cabs are decent sounding, light, and not too expensive. Their ABM NEO range a bit more expensive and possibly slightly heavier (think about 17kg for the 210).

Strongly recommend the Ashdown ABM210H- PN Neo cabs

Sound really good and sensible price

Never really considered Ashdown (used to have a MAG combo back in the day so that could be why) but will have a look at both ranges

You may want to expand on what the use is for, power handling, amp to be used with, cone size, coloured or uncoloured etc.

It will help narrow down - but essentially will list their preference which may or may not be aligned to yours!

Oops sorry yes, to be used with a  Zoom B3N & TC BQ500 - ideally 2 cabs - 2of 2x10 or mix of one of those with a 1x15 maybe?

  3. Hi Paul, weirdly enough I had some weeks ago been looking at the Ibanez SR range!

the Jackson ones do seem to have a good set of specs which I can possibly upgrade at some point, just wonder if they’re as lightweight as the Ibbys?

  4. 1st post from me on this thread and Hooky still underrated imho.

Am a former owner of a RBX550M in blue - was a massive Billy Sheehan back in the ‘90’s so got this video, saw what he had on the cover and well - had to get a Yammy!

My mate has a BB734A which if he ever wants to sell it, could give it a good home...

  5. Hey everyone

Am after a Spector Legend 5 Custom string but can’t seem to find any info on the weight of them!

Just wondered if anyone had this particular model if they knew what the weight was?

    Cheers in advance

    Dan

So I've got my rig down to a nice lightweight one speaker solution, Markbass LM3 and a Shroeder 212pl 800watt 4ohms. Mostly been playing pubs since getting it together but last night played a largish marquee tent for a charity festival. Oh my, what a sound! No PA back up, just vocals and a bit of bass drum through it so I cranked it a bit thinking I would get a bit lost with everyone (guitar/keys) turned up to push the sound out. Normally have the volume on about 10 o'clock and that is at the most for a biggish pub, went up to just before 12 o'clock and my girlfriend who was sat right at the back behind quite a big crowd said she had never heard me so loud! Great fun gig, we were second last on so chilled with a beer to hear the final band, had a little boogie! Louder than all the other bassists apparently!! I can live with that!!

Hey dude, was playing in the band before you (Solice) - sounded pretty good from behind the marquee when I was packing my stuff away and ain't nothing wrong with being loud! Loved your cover of The Chain" btw!
