  1. Hi. I'm after advice for setting up a pedal board. I've bought a Tres 3.1 Rockboard to tidy up the few pedals I use. It will house my wireless (G50) unit, my tuner, 10 band eq and a compressor. What do I need to power it? This is my main need as I want to remove all the individual chargers into one and what specific cables do i need  im aware i need a tray to mount it  Do I need a patchbay? I'll be playing into a bass terror and not through the effects loop. TIA from a pedalboard novice

FMC cabs from Germany are also superb.

Cheers man  I will check these out as well. I thought my options were limited and the Barefaced was calling again 👍

  3. Cheers jaybeevee. Yeah messaged him on Facebook. It's a great indicator as hasn't even read the message.

I was in the market for TKS before i picked up a couple of beautiful 1126s here from the classifieds.

My enquires to TKS over the last months were not answered. I used email to contact as i don't use any social media.

Maybe they reply to Facebook and the like...

  4. Hi everyone. Just wondering if anyone knows what's happening with TKS. I'm in the market for a new cab and these were top of my list. When I've done a bit digging looks like there's uncertainty about them. Cheers.

  5. Hi all
I'd be interested to hear your opinions on a project I'm contemplating. I've got a Mike Dirnt Precision and am thinking of changing the badass 2 bridge to a Fender Deluxe String through bridge. I can pick up the necessary equipment on eBay at a decent price.
Is it worth the risk? I have a Jazz with a string through bridge and it sounds great. If I do though I'm worried about the bridge fitting and if the finish will have been affected already by the badass 2 in place already. I also wonder will the sound difference be worth it. And would this add to the basses value?

Look forward to your thoughts on this.

  6. Cheers for the bump Munkonthehill.....

....and for the interest in the Gretsch. It's a fine bass, quite bassy and warm with some punch too. I changed the pick ups to Thundertrons recently and had the bridge pinned so haven't had chance to turn up loud, loud. I was due to practice a couple of days ago but the singers lttileun was poorly and we had to cancel. Darn those pesky kids! We're due to practice Thursday so will be able to give it a good run out. Here it is shortly out of the box.

  7. Cheers Deanbean.

I play in a rock/punk covers type band. I'm competing with a loud drummer and two mesa's who have 6 12 inch speakers between them! The little fella, although holds it's own breaks up slightly, even after changing the valves and thus not giving the sound i want. I played it last week with just one guitarist and it was fine. I'm after a Weber Mywatt either 100 0r 200 as i also do some stuff in a husker du type band also.
I also have a couple of young kids and a lack of space. Hence can't really justify holding onto the little fella. The sound though is fantastic. If i had more cash and a bigger house it would stay!

    Cheers again

  8. Hi there

    Ashdown Little Bastard for sale.

Bought at Christmas time. Hardly used. Only a couple of times at practice, mainly sitting at home so needs a better home. I have changed the pre amp valves to reduce the gain when cranked up. It has a couple of 82's and an 81 in (Groove tube and Electro Harmonix). I will supply the originals if wanted or change them back. This is a fantastice sounding amp.

Send me an offer to my inbox. I'll send photo's or answer any queries also. Any silliness will be ignored.

    Cheers

  9. Hi all

I'm selling some Filtertons after changing to Thundertrons. I've had the bass for nearly two weeks, four days with a Luthier and only used it on a couple of songs at practice. Therefore these things are virtually brand new. I'll box them in the Thundertron boxes.

If anyone is interested make me an offer before I chance my arm on Ebay!! They're go for 95.00 british pounds new. I obviously won't expect that, i'd be looking for about 70.00 pounds each plus postage and packaging. One recently went for close to that on Ebay.

I'll consider all offers but would like to make some of the outlay on the Thundertrons!

    Cheers

  10. Hi Peter and Clauster

    Thanks for the heads up.

I checked out those Genz Benz and they sound fine, particulary the shuttle. There's certainly something about them and their crisp, punchy tone! I guess i'm a valve man though.

It's sounding like that for the LB to compete i got to get a lot of speaker. If i want to stay valve i need a bigger amp. I'll chack out playing through a couple of cabs to see if that makes a difference though.

Cheers again chaps and back to drawing board!

  11. It's definately loud and louder. I can drop the bass and treble volume on my bass and turn the amp upto full and have very little gain coming through. However, this also drops the volume. I thnk generally for what we do it's just not loud enough. I play in a punk/rock covers band and have to compete against a 4x12 and mesa head and a 2x12 mesa combo and i'm struggling to be heard. Even if i can get the 6 stringers to turn down a little it just appears to struggle! I also changed to two more 82's to lose all the gain and it lost quite a bit of volume too.

    Cheers again

    Hi Pete

I need to sort this for when we start gigging, which is soon and is dependent on whether i can do this. I'm using a 4ohm 4x10 at a the practice room and 4ohm 2x10 at home. If i can do this i'll be buying either a 4x10 or 2x12 with one eye on the ohmage.

I suppose the other thing to think about is whether this is an expensive route overall.

    cheers
