1. Up for sale is a brand new Squier Classic vibe 60's Precision bass strung with unplayed D'Addario XL Chromes in 45-100 gauge & a brand new Fender Gig bag. I bought this bass a month ago for a project which has since fallen through, so i will no longer be needing it, hence the sale, it has never been used and as i am primarily a guitar player, i cant see any reason to hang onto it. The bass was £337, the strings, which are flats, perfect for the famous P sound, were £25, so was the Fender Gig bag, the wide TGI black padded leather strap was £20 & a professional setup was another £30, total spend - £440. Grab a bargain at this price for this highly regarded future classic bass guitar and all the gear good to go & ready to gig/record with from the off. As i said, the bass guitar is brand new but i can't seem to find the tag for it which is annoying, but you will see that this bass has never been played or used in any way whatsoever, there is not a mark of any kind anywhere, it is flawless. My guitar tech took the cellophane cover off of the pickguard when he did the setup, or else it would still be on there too. Demo/Pickup from Sutton, Surrey, cash on collection or £10 delivery to you. Message me if interested.

  2. I'm an acoustic guitarist primarily & have been getting together a few recordings that at the moment are just acoustic guitar, keys & rhythm section loops. I'm looking for some opinions on what bass you guys think would best compliment the sounds I already have in the mix. I am looking at either a precision or a Jazz. What do you think would work best with what I've got & why that might be? I'm looking to borrow one or the other from a friend for this project, so just wanted a quick heads up before I ask him for whichever bass gets the most recommendations.

    Cheers,

  3. I bought this amp a few years ago for a band project that sadly went sour within a few months of purchase & as a result, it has been sitting, unused in my music room ever since. It has never been gigged & hardly been played through at all. I guess i hung onto it in the hope that another project would come about, but i have since become far too busy to consider one even if it did - I'm purely recording now. This amp is in as new condition really & practically unused & comes with the original instruction booklet all nice & crisp. It would make a great practicing, rehearsing & gigging rig that is highly portable, very powerful & exhibits great warmth for your low end needs. Demo/Collection from Sutton, Surrey/Greater London.Email me at:- [email protected]

  4. Thanks for the feedback again guys. Based on your sound advice, I'm going to wait for the bass to arrive, put some fresh strings on it, play the hell out of it & then re-access things. Hopefully i wont need or want to change a thing (it would certainly save me money). That way i may be able to afford a CV 60's P, should one come up used at the right price.

A sort of side note here, but what weight can i expect the CV 60's Jazz to come in at? I know that all pieces of wood are different etc. so even identical models can vary considerably, but if you know off hand, how much does your particular CV Jazz bass weigh?

    Thanks

  5. That's great Dave. Thanks a lot for sharing your experience with me & for the very kind offer of ABing. Just out of interest, what Fralin's do you think could work really well with this bass?

I was tempted to look into hum cancelling pickups but have read from player/users that the hum cancelling types of single coil pickups rob a fair bit of the single coil character away. Is this true in your experience?
